I think I may have finally completed a sweater that I will wear!
Mostly I like to knit accessories (scarves, shawls, socks, bags, etc.). I'm not a big fan of swatching and I'm particular about how things fit, so in the past sweaters have been a bit of a disappointment to me (not surprising given the no swatching). Every one I've finished had something I just wasn't thrilled about. Too big, sleeve to tight, to short, you get the idea. Even the cropped cardigan which fits and looks great, drives me crazy because it sheds all over everything.
This sweater is nothing like all my past projects, it Rocks! Exactly the right length, just enough room to be casual and comfy, but not so huge I look like Jabba the Hut. The colors are perfect and even though it's an alpaca blend there is almost no shedding on my white top. I'm singing Hallelujah!
The pattern is easy to follow and simple to knit. I added a seam to the back to break up the pieces so they were a little more portable (the only way I ever complete something) and to add a little interest. I'm happy with how it turned out, but if I make it again it could be interesting to make the top back and sleeves in a variegated and the bottom and collar in a solid. Something to think about anyway.
I also added 3 extra rows to each sleeve for my long arms and crocheted a double strand of yarn around to bottom to finish it like the rest of the sweater and give it some weight to help with rolling.
It's very likely the Blue Moon pullover will be re-purposed in to a second Imogen.
Perfect Pacific Northwest Mommy wear! Cozy-casual with just a little bit of flair. Very me.
