The mitts are done and so is the pattern!

Yarn: Hazel Knits Artisan Sock Yarn color: Greenlake
Size: Women's Small ( add sts in multiples of 4 for a larger mitt)
Gauge: 8 sts and 13 rows per inch in PS (I used size 1 US needles)
K2tog : Knit two together
PS: Pattern Stitch
Pattern Stitch: Garter Rib
Row 1: *K2,P2 repeat from *
Row 2: Knit
Cast on 56 sts. using long tail method.
K in 2x2 rib for 1 1/2" .
K in PS until mitt measures 5 1/2" or until length reaches the base of your thumb. Ending on a K2, P2 round.
with waste yarn k8, slip same 8 sts. back to left hand needle and pick up working yarn, knit round. (you are going to pick out the waste yarn for the thumb gusset later)
continue in PS for 7 rounds ending on a K2, P2 round
K2tog 4 times, K rest of round (this decrease is to keep the mitt snug to the top of your hand, you can leave it out if you have bigger hands)
continue in PS until mitt measures 6 1/2" or until you reach the bottom of your fingers
K in 2x2 rib for 1" (the ribbing also helps keep the mitt snug on top
K 4 rounds and bind off loosely (this makes the rolled edge)
Pick out waste yarn and place live stitches on needles (you should have 8 on each of two needles)
Pick up 2 sts, k8, pick up 2 sts., k8
K in 2x2 rib for 3/4"
K 4 rounds and bind off loosely.
Weave in ends.
Notes: I used the magic loop method to make these but you can use DPN's or two circulars.
