Twelve and a half hours left of 2008. It's been quite a year in my knitting life. I published my first design, learned a lot from some really amazing teachers, and made many great new friends. I learned to trust myself as a knitter and to follow my instincts. I finally came to accept that even though not all my ideas turn out as expected, they were still worth trying. Knitting is a puzzle and process and no matter the result I try to take joy in the doing.
The mosaic is a snap shot some of my 2008 projects (thanks for the idea Irishgirlie). 17 of them are my own design. I couldn't be prouder. Not of the designs themselves, but that I pushed myself to do something outside my comfort zone. It's feels good to work through some of my fears and insecurities (that only took my 39 years!).
Looking back and pondering things isn't really me (hubby is laughing hysterically at the mere idea), but I do love to check things off my list. So 2008 consider yourself marked off!
I'm moving on to 2009. New challenges and designs await and I'm ready to get started. Really. Right now. The yarn, my notes, and needles are sitting right next to my keyboard. It won't hurt to bring in the New Year a few hours early. Right?
Have a happy and safe New Years!
