If the last couple days are any indication 2009 will be a great knitting year! What could be better then spending a good portion of the new year in my PJ's with some fibery object of my affection near by or being plotted on the computer? Not much.
I woke up at 6am Jan. 1st with inspiration for a new design, cast on by 7:30am and knit it through the heel before bedtime. At this rate I'll have a finished pair in a week. Maybe 2009 will finally be my year of the sock!
Speaking of socks..
Little Bunny Foo Foo is all wound up and ready to cast on for the Ravelry Socks that Rawk! Layburn KAL. Everyone is knitting up the pattern in a different colorway. What a brilliant idea and what gorgeous results!
And since that just wasn't quite enough I cast on for another Shape It! Scarf.
Look familiar? My mom wore hers the whole time she was here and looked so darn cute and cozy I just had to have a matching one for myself. I've got about an 1 1/2" to go.
When I haven't been knitting I've been reading some of my new Christmas books (reviews later) or planning my knitting vacations for 2009. Yes, I said vacations, plural. I'm one lucky lady to have such a great husband and mom. I will be attending Madrona Fiber Arts Festival, Sock Camp (assuming they open signups soon and I get in), Spring Fling, and Sock Summit. Madrona I'll just be going for the shopping. I wasn't on the ball early enough to sign up for classes, plus Billy's birthday is the 14th so her celebration always has to come first.
Anyone one else going? I hate to go and find out later I could have meet one of you in person and missed it.
I'm a newbie for the Spring Fling, did anyone go last year? I can't decide if I should get a roommate or not. It's a little scary being paired up with someone you don't know. So if you know me and are looking for a roommate let me know.
We're taking the kids to a movie this afternoon (Bedtime Stories) so I suppose it's time to put some actual clothes on. Maybe I can finish the scarf during the movie.
